Shin Kamen Rider Film Screens N. American Premiere on May 23 in New York – News
Movie opens in N. American theaters on Could 31

New York-based Japan Society introduced on Wednesday that it’s going to display the North American premiere of Hideaki Anno‘s Shin Kamen Rider live-action film on Could 23 in New York Metropolis. Fathom Events will screen the movie in North American theaters on Could 31. The movie will display in Japanese with English subtitles.
The movie opened in Japan on March 17 and ranked at #2 in its opening weekend. The movie bought 345,000 tickets to earn 542 million yen (about US$4.12 million) in its first three days.
The movie has earned a cumulative whole of two,111,192,410 yen (about US$15.51 million). The movie marks the primary time that any movie within the Kamen Rider franchise has earned greater than 2 billion yen, and is thus the highest-earning movie within the Kamen Rider franchise‘s historical past.
Anno directed, wrote, and produced the movie. Shotaro Ishinomori is credited as the unique creator. Katsuro Onoue is credited as affiliate director, with Ikki Todoroki as assistant director. Famed designers Mahiro Maeda, Ikuto Yamashita, and Yutaka Izubuchi — who’ve collaborated with Anno on many earlier tasks similar to Evangelion — have been the designers for the movie. Isao Tsuge was the costume designer. Taku Iwasaki (Read or Die, Jormungand, Gurren Lagann) composed the music.
Sousuke Ikematsu performs Takeshi Hongo/Kamen Rider, whereas Minami Hamabe performs Ruriko Midorikawa.
